Name: Alexander Ferrin
Age: 26
Race: Human
Alignment: Government
Physical Description:
Personality Description: The long and the short of Alexander is that he is a Not Very Nice sort of person. While some who work at keeping the faeries in their place do only just as much as if necessary, Alexander takes more than a small amount of enjoyment from going above and beyond the call of duty. In some ways he's what the fey have been demonized into, capricious and quick to lash out over small wrongs. He has a deeply ingrained distrust for the fey thanks to a bad experience he had as a boy.
Everything he does is tainted by his biases of the fey, which is unhealthy and he honestly doesn't give a shit about it. When dealing with humans he is quite variable. To figures within the government he is the perfect subordinate. He's respectful and eager to obey orders and ingratiate himself. To average folk he's pleasant on the surface, he'll hold doors and greet people with a sir or ma'am . It is only when he People who sympathize with the fey are given lackluster courtesy and subtle meanness, but he's never outright cruel to people. He's clever enough to know that being a proper bastard to those foolish people who have their priorities all mixed around won't do anything but push them further away from the proper view. So instead he talks. He talks about the fey, or more specifically things they do; he takes real pleasure in telling people about awful things the fey may or may not have done. (Oh did you hear about how X was found dead. I hear he was killed by something like a holly stake through the heart. How many men might do that?). Get him properly drunk and he might even share the story of how he met one of the fey as a child.
He has paranoid tendencies that effect his daily life in small ways. Alexander refuses to eat or drink things that he has not seen prepared with his own eyes. He has a few personal rituals that have over time have evolved into a mild form of OCD. When he meets a person, he has to shake their hand and if he doesn't he'll over time get edgy and snappish due to a paranoia that they might be fey and could be planning something. This thought cycle disturbs him and can escalate unless he finds some way to make physical contact and confirm what they really are. He also has a nightly ritual of making sure every lock in his apartment is locked.
Short History: Once upon a time Alexander lived in upstate new york with his mother and father. His father was surveying the woods to have some logging done to create room for new homes to built. As a boy he enjoyed playing in the woods, not heeding warnings to be careful. At this point, Alex was still naïve to the dangers that lurked in the forest, which was full of old growth trees. He met a fey in the woods, and being young he thought that the beautiful creature would be good and kind like in the storybooks. A rather painful mistake, because when the fey learned that Alexander was the son of the man responsible for the imminent destruction of the trees decided to punish the boy for that crime of being his father's son.
